NE Firm On Track With Scottish Motocross Sponsorship

John Kirk, 19, at Keenan Recycling

An Aberdeenshire teenager taking part in this year’s Scottish Motocross Championships has secured sponsorship from a North-east organics recycling firm.

John Kirk, 19, from Auchterless, who has competed competitively in the sport since he was six years old and is being backed by Keenan Recycling of New Deer.

Brothers Grant and Gregor Keenan, who run organics recycling company, are both keen motorcyclists and this fuelled their interest in supporting the young rider in this year’s championship.

Director for Keenan Recycling, Gregor Keenan, said:

“This is the second year we have sponsored John and it is great to be able to support such a successful contender as well as a sport that we are passionate about.”

The Scottish Motocross Championships consists of six rounds with races taking place across Scotland. The first round of the competition took place in Tain on 18 March where Mr Kirk won all three races in the Semi Expert Class. The next round sees competitors heading to Duns in the Scottish Borders for the second round on 8 April.

Last year Mr Kirk came third in the championships and is hoping to improve on this in this year’s race.
